Recent addition to the 'Prince' series of short, early flowering tulips. We loved the warm, sunset tones of this variety - the flowers are lit from within with yellow-gold, whilst the ouside of the petals are burnished with rich copper-salmon. Pink hyacinths had never been a favourite with us, until a cheerful spring bouquet of them, mixed with cream-edged pink tulips, brought about a change of mind. The pink was a prettier shade than other pink hyacinths we had seen before and investigation showed that it was a new variety. We trialled this variety on the farm in spring last year, having already admired it at Keukenhof. The flowers are deep cerise with a white edge and look equally lovely planted in drifts or crammed into containers. We grow it with hyacinth 'Woodstock' and muscari 'White Magic'.
