Warm copper-rose tones and fully double blooms make for a wonderful double early flowering tulip. It is also pictured here with 'Amazing Grace', which makes a great planting partner, flowering at the same time and height. This year, we also tried it in terracotta pots with the taller 'Slawa', which has the same copper-rose tone at the edges of its darker blooms - a fantastic combination! Flowering...

Remarkable new variety, with fully petalled flowers of claret, feathering out into a broad white edge. Like a double form of 'Spitsbergen' (it comes from the same grower!). We also love the way the flowers age, echoing the fading beauty of 'La belle Epoque'.  Despite the fullness of the flowers, they hold up well on strong stems. Flowers of phlox pink, fading to nearly white at the edges, are strongly flamed with fresh green. The leaves are banded silver-white. Very beautiful variety which, at a height of just 1' (30cm) is ideal for fronting borders, edging paths and for container planting. Pink hyacinths had never been a favourite with us, until a cheerful spring bouquet of them, mixed with cream-edged pink tulips, brought about a change of mind. The pink was a prettier shade than other pink hyacinths we had seen before and investigation showed that it was a new variety.
