Remarkable new variety, with fully petalled flowers of claret, feathering out into a broad white edge. Like a double form of 'Spitsbergen' (it comes from the same grower!). We also love the way the flowers age, echoing the fading beauty of 'La belle Epoque'. Despite the fullness of the flowers, they hold up well on strong stems. We always feel that tulips with such a strong presence are best used alone, or with a single colour tulip which picks up on one of their tones. They are particularly good for containers and for cutting. Flowering in April/May at 16" (40cm).
