Commelina tuberosa Coelestis Group
Tuberous perennial noted for its small but vivid, true-blue flowers in summer and autumn. Grow in a warm, sheltered spot in sun or part shade, in well-drained soil. The tubers are best planted en-masse for impact and can either be left in situ over winter with a deep protective mulch or, in colder areas, lifted and stored frost free.

Dahlia 'Honka Dark' (Honka Black)
There is a suspicion that 'Honka Dark' and 'Verrone's Obsidian' may be one and the same. It will take DNA testing to reveal the truth but it was noticeable that the plants we grew of 'Honka Black' did appear slightly taller and the petals a little less furled than those of 'Verrones Obsidian'. (not available this season). So, not much to call between them, but both excellent and unusual garden...
