We first grew this stunning allium back in 2006, when it was a new introduction and not widely available. We were impressed with it then and with its subsequent flowering over the years. More recently, it was part of the Wisley allium trial, impressing the judges sufficiently to gain an RHS Award of Garden Merit. The flowers are deep violet and of great size (6"/15cm or more in diameter) and in good proportion to the moderate stem height of 24-27" (60-70cm). Flowering time is usually from mid-June.
