Pretty, ruffled flowers defy conventional dahlia categorisation and are all the more charming for it. The golden centres are an open invitation to pollinating insects and the colour of the petals range from deepest red-purple at the heart, through lighter shades of the same hue, to near white at the petal edges. Its informality makes for a delightful border subject to mingle with more formal varieties. Winner of a new AGM in the 2023/2024 Dahlia Trials at RHS Wisley.
