We are always on the lookout for new single-flowered dahlias. They add a pleasingly natural touch to plantings and are great for attracting pollinating insects. 'Bashful' has charming two-tone flowers of dark, reddish purple, with lighter tips to the petals. The yellow centres shout out the availability of pollen to passing bees and butterflies. We recommend placing single-flowered dahlias near the front of the border where possible, as this will ensure that the spent flowers are easily accessible for deadheading.
