These little-known bulbs produce freesia-like flowers in striking colours. They are rather frost tender, so should be started off/overwintered in a greenhouse or conservatory in cold or wet climates and may be moved outside to flower in early summer. In favoured areas, they may survive outside in a sunny, sheltered spot if mulched heavily. Fortunately, they are lovely subjects for pot culture in the conservatory or greenhouse, where they will sometimes reward with winter flowers.
