There is a suspicion that 'Honka Dark' and 'Verrone's Obsidian' may be one and the same. It will take DNA testing to reveal the truth but it was noticeable that the plants we grew of 'Honka Black' did appear slightly taller and the petals a little less furled than those of 'Verrones Obsidian'.  (not available this season). So, not much to call between them, but both excellent and unusual garden dahlias of a height which needs no staking.
