A close relation of the autumn flowering colchicums, these spring flowering corms are less well known but are hardy and easily grown in soil which is well-drained but moisture retentive. In these conditions, they can be grown in sun or partial shade. The rosy-mauve flowers hug the ground, being borne on the shortest of stems, and the leaves appear later, elongating as the flowers go over. Height up to 3" (8cm).
